Yacht Butler — Intensive Training Program

Objective: Equip participants with internationally aligned Yacht Butler capabilities to deliver flawless high-end guest experiences at sea, with strong technical awareness and crisis reflexes.

Program Modules

Day 1: Introduction to Luxury Yacht Butlering & Core Protocols

Morning (09:00 – 12:30)

  • The Yacht Butler Difference: Discipline contrasts between land-based and sea-based butlers.
  • The idea of “Seamless Service”: Keeping service uninterrupted even while underway.
  • On-board hierarchy: Captain, crew, chef, stewardess, and butler relationships.
  • International Yacht Etiquette: Maritime forms of greeting and address; guest reception/farewell — quay and tender boat protocol.
  • Space & Equipment Use: Graceful movement in tight areas, quiet/low-vibration principles; protecting luxury materials and surfaces.

Afternoon (13:30 – 17:00)

  • The Art of Service — Fine Dining at Sea: Balance techniques for service in swell.
  • Care of silver, glass, and porcelain in salty, humid conditions.
  • Beverage service: champagne, wine, cocktails, coffee.
  • Preparing Guest Areas: Cabin turndown (night) and daytime setup; towel folding, bed making, floral arrangements.

Day 2: Technical & Safety Training + Guest Experience

Morning (09:00 – 12:30)

  • Basic Seamanship: Yacht terms (bow, starboard, port, stern, foredeck, etc.).
  • The butler’s role during mooring (ensuring safe guest boarding/disembarking).
  • Emergency radio calls (Mayday, Pan-pan, Sécurité).
  • Technical Awareness: Simple responses during power loss; managing guest anxiety in A/C, lighting, or water issues; escorting the tender boat safely.

Afternoon (13:30 – 17:00)

  • Personalization in Luxury Service: Techniques for guest profile analysis.
  • The “one step ahead” principle — understanding needs before they are voiced.
  • Special Event Preparation: Sunset champagne ceremony; organizing birthdays/celebrations on the water.

Day 3: First Aid + Crisis Management + Final Drill

Morning (09:00 – 12:30)

  • Essential First Aid (Marine Context): Initial response to falls/cuts; rapid solutions for heatstroke and seasickness.
  • Basic rescue considerations for near-drowning (within the butler’s safe remit).
  • Fire & Evacuation Scenarios: Yacht fire-extinguisher types and usage principles; safe guest evacuation, assisting with life jackets.

Afternoon (13:30 – 17:00)

  • Integrated Service Simulation: Greeting at the quay → cabin check-in → beverage service → dinner service → night turndown.
  • Emergency drill (instructor plays the guest).
  • Final Assessment & Certification: Practical exam (service, communication, technical awareness); luxury yacht butler certificate ceremony.
